Netflix dating series Indian Matchmaking looked at the world of arranged marriages through the eyes of those hoping to meet their perfect matches. Two of the singles hoping to find love were Nadia Jagessar and Vinay Chadha - here’s what happened to them after the show.

Netflix dating show Indian Matchmaking concentrates on a group of singletons looking to find love.
The show follows in the footsteps of series like Love is Blind and Too Hot To Handle and was Netflix’s latest foray into the genre.
However, this series instead looks at arranged marriages as matchmaker Sima Taparia is tasked with finding suitable partners for South Asian singletons.

Two people paired up in the series were Vinay and Nadia, who hit it off as soon as they first met.
When they went for a date on the show, the pair got along really well with their similar sense of humour.
However, following this, viewers watched on the series as Vinay then stood her up twice.
After the first time, he sent gifts to apologise for missing their date but after it happened again, Nadia called it off.

Vinay recently posted on Instagram about their relationship, after he received backlash for his actions.
In his lengthy post, he claimed Nadia was actually the one who ghosted him.
He wrote: “Overall I was happy to have done the show and dated Nadia. Did I make mistakes? Of course.
“The truth is we were supposed to hang out one night after a wedding she was at.

“I had a family issue during that night and intended to still come, hence I texted on my way.
“I was def unclear and vague and not responsive and I own that. I should have never made her wait or been stupid enough to not share the real reason.
“Over the next week, I explained that to her and could see it bothered her. As such, I wanted to meet the friends that I would have met after the wedding (not what you saw on Netflix) and met one and explained it.
“I also sent her flowers and her favourite candies to show I’m all in.
“The next few weeks were rough for me emotionally. As much as I wanted to move past this I was called shady and I hold her I couldn't be more clear now and am owning this.
“Fast forward to movie night. I never ditched her there. The morning of the movie on July 18 I texted her saying I was sick and didn’t want to last minute flake so I can’t come.

“I thought this is honest upfront, no BS. She didn’t react well when later in the day I got an IV and wanted to meet up.
“She replied saying I handled this wrong too and never once asked if I was okay. I have receipts to prove it.
“After that day she ghosted me. The meeting dinner with her friends never happened.
“I was the one left heartbroken and ghosted. My feelings were real and I never flake without good reason and if I do, I own it.”
Speaking to the New York Post about his message, Nadia gave her side of the story.

She said: “I have some messages where I said I don’t wish to pursue anything further, and he did keep reaching out and I ignored him. So if he considers that ghosting, that’s fine.”
She also added about how it was not her fault for how he was portrayed in the show.
Nadia added: “Don’t be mad at me. I am not the producer or the person who created the show.
“I am a piece of this puzzle, just as you were.”
